It is not possible to fabricate the metal into custom shapes in only a matter of hours; so to make your custom trading pins fast, we must use pre-made blank pin shapes. We have several varieties of blank shapes to choose from. Once you choose the shape of your pins our designers will work with you to create a custom image. The custom image is then printed onto the pre-made blank shape. Double pins and clutches are added to the back of your custom trading pins and an epoxy dome is applied, if desired. Epoxy Dome
All lapel pins come with the option of an epoxy dome. The epoxy dome is a smooth, glass-like surface that both protects and improves the quality of your pins. The epoxy is crystal clear; it does NOT yellow or discolor over time.
Acrylic Laminate
No standard lapel pins come with an acrylic laminate. Acrylic laminate (or “acrylic dome” as one competitor calls it), is nothing more than a smooth glossy coating. If that is all you need then we are happy to provide it, but for lasting quality we recommend the epoxy dome. It can add 30% to the cost of your rush trading pins order, but it is well worth the expense.
One of our competitors claims that the “acrylic dome” or laminate is more clear than epoxy. Acrylic laminate is a very thin layer which does not protect your pins from heavy abrasion and is not fully water-proof. Acrylic lamination was originally developed for sign companies; it is easily rolled or sprayed onto the vinyl used for rush pins. Acrylic is a very thin lamination and calling it an “acrylic dome” is misleading. If our competitor is so against the epoxy dome, then why do they offer it on their other standard non-rush pins?
